Why aren't your pillar candles 100% soy?
As of yet, no one has been able to produce a 100% soy wax that can used for pillar candles. Soy is a very oily, soft wax and does not hold up without a container. We do, however, use EcoSoya PB wax for our pillar, tarts, and other specialty wax items. EcoSoya is an all natural wax without ANY added paraffin. Are 'All Natural Soy' candles 100% soy?
No. Since there are no current industry standards for labeling soy candles, most that are labeled "all natural soy" are soy wax blends. And not all soy wax blends are "all natural". Most soy wax blends contain paraffin.
Are your candles triple scented?
That all depends. We do not advertise our candles as triple scented. However we do use the maximum scent load for our specific waxes. Please don't be fooled by people or companies advertising their candles as 'triple scented'. Their candles are not necessarily stronger than anyone else's. They just use the maximum amount of fragrance recommended. Although the industry standard ranges from .5 ounce to 1.5 ounces per lb, wax can only hold so much fragrance oil. Using more than the manufacturers maximum load is unsafe and could be down right dangerous.
What's the white stuff on my soy candle?
Sometimes you may find a white frosting-like appearance on the outside of a soy wax candle. This frosting is a natural characteristic of soy wax and not a defect in the candle. It does not affect the quality of the candle or it's burn. In my opinion, it makes a candle unique. Some candle makers purchase additives to give their candles this crystallized, frosted look.
What is the oil on top of my candle?
Soy wax has very low melting point and because of this the fragrance oil will separate from the wax when exposed to extreme temperature changes (e.g., being shipped in a hot truck or placed in a hot room). This occurs often with 100% soy wax. There is nothing to worry about if this happens. If you do come across a candle that is sweating, we recommend blotting the oil with a paper towel and then lighting. After burning your candle for the first time, you shouldn't see anymore sweating.
Why do some scents smell lighter than others?
Each candle fragrance has a different degree of scent throw. Some candles scents are just lighter than others. It's not a flaw with the candle, just a characteristic of the fragrance. If you find a candle is too light for your taste, we recommend burning it in a smaller room or using a larger size candle.
Why don't you have pictures for all of your candles?
I am currently trying to get everything posted on our site. I am working to have all of our candles on buy the beginning of July. The candles that we do have made are located in a physical shop. (I was able to get pictures of some of them.) The candles that are online for purchase, for the most part, have not been made yet. You could say that our candles are made to order! They are fresh, not ones that have sat on a shelf.
As I stated, for right now, I am focusing on getting everything set up with the website. As we make each batch and each size I will take pictures and post them as soon as possible! Check back weekly to see our new additions.
